General Event Information

COVID SAFETY

SBS and production partner, Blink TV are working closely with our Queensland partners in our planning for the event in February. All plans will adhere to the health advice and guidelines at the time. The health and safety of everyone involved remains our highest priority

The venue, the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre has site-specific COVID Safe Guidelines consistent with guidance provided by the Australian Government and Queensland Government authorities.

The COVID-19 Venue Risk Assessment will be subject to ongoing review and where required controls adjusted to prevent harm to health.

The Queensland Government, on 9 November 2021, issued an updated Queensland Government Health Direction which applies to Queensland Convention Centres, announcing new measures from the 17th of December 2021, or once Queensland reaches an 80% double vaccination rate. The new measures apply to everyone in Queensland whether a visitor or resident. This means workers, clients and visitors must be double vaccinated to work in, or attend, any of the events held at the Convention Centre.

As such it will be a requirement of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in collaboration with event organisers to check proof of double vaccination on entry. This is in addition to visitors checking in via the Queensland Government App.

Patrons are required to wear masks on arrival and exit, and whilst seated in the arena or moving around the venue.

The organisers thank you for your co-operation and understanding with the required COVID safety measures. We will be working closely with the venue and our ticketing agency, Ticketek, as we implement these new Government-mandated conditions of entry. There will be additional details released by the Queensland Government in the coming weeks.

Please monitor this site for updated detailed advice on the COVID measures.
